Over the months, I've discovered some fantastic shopping websites for baby ... and a few for expectant Mommy as well! There's so much wonderful stuff online, and it's heartening to see so many Pinoy entrepreneurs coming up with such fantastic products for Pinoy moms and babies.

(1) Amazon.com - If you have a relative who can ship you stuff from the US via balikbayan box, Amazon is a pretty good place to find items that are hard-to-find in the Philippines, and to find good discounts.

(2) EBay.ph - EBay Philippines is great. There are so many people selling new or used baby clothes and baby accessories. Through EBay, I found a crib-toddler bed that cost P4500 (compared to P15000 at SM). If you aren't used to using EBay, though, use your common sense and be careful. If a seller doesn't have a lot of good seller feedback yet, you may want to insist on a meet-up rather than on sending him/her the money; sadly, there are some scam sellers on EBay. You may also want to try scouting the ads on Sulit.com.ph, but again, be careful how and with whom you transact.

(3) Next9.org - Next9 has three great products. For Mommy, they have a line of Jersey maternity wear (I haven't bought any from them, though). For baby, they sell baby slings (about P1000 - P1500 per sling) and all-in-one cloth diapers (their brand is called Tushy Wushy), the only locally-made brand of all-in-ones I'm aware of.

(4) Indigo Manila - Indigo Manila is another cool site. Their hottest selling item is their nursing cover-up (they call it a "nursing bib"), a giant apron-like piece of cloth that you can use to cover yourself for discreet breastfeeding in public. They also sell really cute baby pouches (similar to baby slings but without the rings), bath and body products, and very fashionable breastfeeding tank tops.

(5) Nursing Mom - Nursing Mom, like Indigo Manila, also sells nursing cover-ups in funky colors.

(6) Funky Feet - This site sells Funky Feet Not-Quite-Shoes, cute little baby socks that look like shoes! They also sell nursing bibs.

(7) Umaga26 - An official on-line distributor of Baby Couture Diaper Bags - a line of chic, fashionable diaper bags.

(8) Mommy Matters - Mommy Matters specializes in one thing: nursing wear. They offer a great fit-at-home service: you tell them what your size is, and they come to your house with all their products that are in your size, and you can choose from the supply that they bring. There's a small fee for this that is waived if you buy more than a certain amount.

(9) Bumblebee - A friend of mine is one of the co-owners of this, one of the best baby/child costume-makers in the country. They also sell baptism gowns.

(10) Multiply also has dozens of other local sellers peddling goods imported from other countries: everything from baby bottles to baby carriers and of course, baby clothes. Have fun searching for them!

Hi Row! This is a great list! I wish I had this when I was pregnant.

I know Next9 people. We actually used one of their slings when Matthew was a baby. I highly recommend using one!

    Thanks!! :)

Small world: I know the Next9 people too! One was an org-mate in college; the other is the sister of someone I knew in high school. :)
